Mie Goreng (Indonesian Stir-Fry Noodles)

Ingredients
  

  • Yellow noodles, or any noodles.
  • 200 g shrimp, cut into butterfly (peeled)
  • 2 tbsp  soy sauce.
  • 2 tbsp sweet sauce, or teriyaki sauce.
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce / ketchup
  • 3 red bird eye chilies.
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 red onion, cut into slices
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Garnish with fried onion and prawn cracker, or any cracker

Method
 

  1. Start by cooking the yellow noodles until perfectly tender with a slight bite. Drain and set them aside for later.
  2. Now it’s time to make the mie goreng sauce. Add chili sauce and sweet sauce into a bowl, then mix until smooth and well combined. Simple, quick, and packed with flavor before it even hits the pan.
  3. In the wok, heat a little oil and add the onion, garlic, ginger, and chili. Stir-fry until fragrant and softened. Toss in the kale and cook for a minute, then add the shrimp and cook for a few more minutes until perfectly done.
  4. Add noodle, then add the sauce twist and swirl until every strand are coated with the delicious sauce and infused with the diversity of flavors.
  5. Finally, place your Indonesian Mie Goreng on a platter and enjoy.
