Removing the moisture from the chicken’s skin is the key to crispy wings. To dry your chicken thoroughly, follow these instructions: 

  • Use a paper towel to bloat any unnecessary moisture in the chicken. 
  • Press wings firmly to remove the leftover water. 
  • Use baking powder if the chicken still has moisture in it. 

To maintain the crispiness of the chicken after frying, you should set it on a cooling rack over a baking sheet. Place them in a low oven to keep them warm.

Serving and Presentation Ideas

Lemon honey wings are a complete dish in itself. However, if you add more flavors, I recommend you pair it with a barbeque sauce or a garlic parmesan sauce.

Personally, I like Greek yoghurt ranch. It surely gives it a punch of extra flavor.

However, you can select any of them as per your taste.

Suppose you include it to your menu for a small gathering, housewarming or small get-together of friends. In that case, you should make mashed potatoes alongside it.

This is my personal experience that mashed potatoes with honey lemon chicken wings is the most liked combo for guests.

You can also serve it with veggies like corn, zucchini fritters or slices of carrots.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg of chicken wings
  • Vegetable oil for deep frying
  • ½ cup corn flour (Cornstarch)
  • Sesame seed for garnish

Honey Lemon Souce

  • 1 fresh lemon
  • 3 tsp honey
  • 2 tsp corn flour mixed with 3 tbsp water

Marinated Chicken

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp chicken powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions
 

  • The chicken wings should be put in a large bowl. Give them a gentle massage after adding and thoroughly mixing all the marinade ingredients.

  • Corn starch, honey and lemon juice are added to a pot set over high heat. Simmer for 2 minutes or until thick. Set aside.

  • Prepare the corn flour in a shallow dish while you wait for the vegetable oil to heat up. Add the oil to the saucepan for frying. Add the chicken wing halves and coat with the mixture. Before dropping each wing into the heated oil, pat off any excess flour.

  • Cook the chicken wings for 10 minutes or until crisp and golden. Repeat with the remaining chicken wings and flour after draining on paper towels.
    Deep Fried Chicken Wings
  • Your chicken is ready now. You only have to dip it in the lemon honey sauce. While the chicken is hot, start pouring the lemon honey sauce on it. Start mixing the chicken with your hands. Make sure all your chicken is dipped in the sauce. Garnish them with sesame seeds.
